Here are some words you may have heard before and they are very common:

Direct Linking:

You might've heard most of the people with website are always saying "No direct linking!", why is it so bad??? and you're just don't know what direct linking REALLY is??? Well first of all Websites Server (like Tripod, Angel Fire, Homestead, Freewebs) give you something called "bandwidth".  Each Website server gives the user (you) an amount of bandwidth or Disk Space. When someone is direct linking you're taking the or you’re "stealing" the persons Disk Space and when a lot of people direct link the person there taking it from Disk Space will suddenly stop working. Either the websites stops working or the person has to pay to get more Bandwidth. And it IS illegal.

Intelectual Property:

Is a product someone creates based upon his/her thoughts or ideas (any kin of clip art, music, computer games, animations, banners est.)

Copyright Laws:

This exist to protect those who create an idea or product. The USA. Copyright Act of 1978 protects software companies & creators from illegal use of their products. This symbol  © that you see in some of my dolls and different websites tells you that the material carries a copyright.

Computer Virus:

A lot of people have heard this, but know the "true" meaning of it. A computer virus is any kind of software program that destroys Info or makes it hard to use, create or edit (this can really cause trouble if you're working on a website). Some viruses damage the computer hardware (hardware is anything you can touch like the PC, monitor est.) software (anything you CANT touch like internet est.) or stored information. Other are simply practical jokes someone wants to play on the computer user.

Data:

Any kind of information on you’re computer

Public Data:

Is information that is either not personal or that carries your permission for use. You’re name, email address and in some cases you’re phone number (this does not mean that its save to give out in chartrooms)

Private Data:

Includes info such as credit card numbers & security number or password. You should be careful about giving out this info.

Hacking:

You may heard the term "Hacking" associated with computer ethics (that’s computer laws). Hacking is the unauthorized use of a computer system or program. Computer hacker may be breaking into a system just for fun. Other hackers may have serious reason for trying to unlawfully access a computer program, like getting passwords est. Computer hacking is a HUGE violation of the law and is punishable.
