There are 3 basic types of guitars:
classical (nylon string), acoustic (steel
string), and electric (steel string)
Most music notes, guitar tabs may be used with any type guitar.

Classical
If you want to start play guitar I will recommend the classical guitar. It
has nylon string, which are easy to press down (a lot more) than the steel string found on an acoustic guitar. Finger-style
playing in most common, they are the best guitar for beginners.

Acoustic
The acoustic guitar has steel strings
and a bright' ringing tone. Both pick-style and finger-style playing are common on the acoustic guitar. Acoustic steel-string
guitars come in a variety of shapes whereas the classic comes in one basic shape and size (that why it's called the classic).

Electric
Generally, beginners or most people find electric guitars to be a little
more confusing than acoustic guitars - there are more knobs and buttons to deal with, and there are also a few more things
that can go wrong. But once you get the classic guitar, electric guitars are generally much easier to play than acoustic guitars.
(But I still recommend starting with the classical guitar)It also used for a wide range of musical styles. Pick-style is more
common, but finger-style playing is also used. When practicing on the electric guitar, it is best to use an amplifier.

Buyer beware: most guitars (acoustic and classical) retailing
for under $100 are disappointing junk. Don't throw your money away on a cheap toy, pay a little more and get a real guitar.
The best classic guitars for beginners cost $150 to $300 that make fine beginning instruments. For electric guitars try between
$200 to $300, in most cases an electric less that $150.00 will more than likely fall out of tune constantly. This can be corrected
but that would probably require new tuning heads, among other things, and you’ll only be going through needless hassle.
